Alen Konakoğlu is a Grammy Voting Member, producer, mixing engineer, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles.
Before dedicating himself full-time to mixing and production, Alen built his reputation as a performer with both Duman and The Climb. While Duman became one of Turkey's most influential rock bands, The Climb established itself as a respected progressive metal act, releasing two albums and remaining active until its final performance in 2019. The perspective he gained as a musician continues to shape every project he works on today.
After graduating from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Alen completed his first commercial mix in 2000 and began building a career across recording, production, mixing, and performance. Since then, he has contributed to more than 500 commercially released recordings and accumulated over 660 recording credits as a drummer, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, producer, and recording engineer. His work has generated over 3.2 billion streams, 3.2 billion views, and more than 9.5 million Shazams worldwide.
Throughout his career, he has worked alongside artists and musicians including Ida Nielsen, Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal, Mark Lettieri, Victor Wooten, Steve Smith, Virgil Donati, Randy Merrill, Eric Moore, Andrew Gouché, Scott Henderson, Melvin Lee Davis, Feodor Dosumov, and Vahagn Stepanyan.
In addition to his work behind the console, Alen has also released music as an artist. His instrumental single Journey surpassed 500,000 streams on Spotify, while Muhabbet Eyle Ya Rab, released under his Retrotonik project, further demonstrated the creative range that has defined his career across performance, production, and composition.
His work has earned multiple Platinum and Gold certifications across a wide range of genres. Yamaha later honored his contributions to music with the release of the Alen Konakoğlu Signature Snare Drum.
Whether behind a drum kit, at a mixing desk, or producing a record from the ground up, one principle has remained constant throughout his career:
Serve the music first.
